Under My Skin
Under My Skin imagines a visceral voyage of the spirochetes throughout the human body. Drawing from lived experience with chronic illness, the works explore the unseen paths of infection and the intimate landscapes of the body that become both battleground and vessel.
Drawing from lived experience with chronic illness, the works explore the unseen paths of infection and the intimate landscapes of the body that become both battleground and vessel. Through fluid lines, layered textures, and charged imagery, the microscopic becomes monumental. The spirochetes—normally invisible to the naked eye—are reimagined as active presences, weaving their way under the skin, disrupting balance, and leaving traces of both fragility and resilience.
This collection makes the invisible visible, giving form to sensations that defy language. It invites viewers into an embodied journey where pain, vulnerability, and endurance coexist, revealing the profound entanglement of illness with identity and lived experience.
