Needlism (Liminal Sculptures)
Needlism is a series of sculptural works composed of thousands of pins, needles, and glass beads, transforming sensation into dense material form. Through accumulation and repetition, the works construct textured fields that evoke thresholds between vulnerability and resistance, discomfort and attraction.
Rather than illustrating pain, the series translates embodied experience into spatial structures where perception fluctuates between visual fascination and bodily unease. These works operate as liminal environments—where the body is felt through material tension, rhythm, and density, rather than representation.
